Rajkot: A city man has been booked for allegedly assaulting his wife and threatening to kill her, during a meeting arranged to resolve their marital disputes in the parking area of the district court premises on Jamnagar Road.Based on a complaint filed by the woman, University police station registered an FIR against the husband, under Sections 115(2), 352 and 351(3) of BNS.According to the complaint, the couple travelled to Shimla and Manali 15 days ago when an argument broke out between them. The woman alleged her husband then left her behind in Shimla and returned to Rajkot alone. She later came back to the city on her own.The complaint states that on the afternoon of July 1, her husband called her on WhatsApp and asked her to meet him at the district court, to discuss resolving their differences.While the two were talking in the court parking area, the husband began recording a video of the complainant on his mobile phone. When she also started recording the interaction, he allegedly got enraged.The complainant alleged that the man abused her before assaulting her. The altercation escalated after she took the key from his motorcycle. On hearing the commotion, people nearby intervened and prevented any further assault.Before leaving, the man allegedly threatened to break her limbs and kill her if she approached police, the complaint states. As she was injured by the assault, the woman sought treatment at Rajkot Civil Hospital before lodging the complaint.
