Roche to set up digital technology hub in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Swiss healthcare giant Roche on Wednesday said it is expanding its digital technology presence in India with a new hub in Hyderabad, its second in the country after Pune.The Digital Technology Hub in Hyderabad is scheduled to begin operations in the first quarter of 2027 and is expected to scale over the following years, it said.The Hyderabad centre will join Roche’s global technology hub network and strengthen support for digital applications and IT services across biostatistics, enterprise resource planning and medical safety, the company said.The Swiss drugmaker said the Hyderabad site would add life sciences domain expertise and capacity to accelerate development of data-driven digital solutions.Ramesh Durvasula, chief data officer and acting chief AI officer, Roche, said Hyderabad offers an exceptional talent pool, particularly in pharmaceuticals and life sciences.He said Roche aims to use India’s healthcare and technology ecosystem to build scalable innovations that improve patient care.Raja Jamalamadaka, vice-president and site head for Roche’s Pune and Hyderabad sites, said the investment reflects Roche’s long-term commitment to India and its innovation ecosystem.He said the expanded footprint would enhance the company’s ability to deliver next-generation digital and technology solutions.Founded in Basel in 1896, Roche operates in more than 150 countries across medicines and diagnostics.
