Jaipur: Police arrested a fruit company employee, his brother and a friend, Wednesday, for allegedly staging a Rs20 lakh robbery in Bhilwara, cracking the case within 42 hours. The accused, Narayan Singh, his brother Raghuveer and friend Vishal Sahu, were arrested Wednesday and produced in court after being taken through the city’s main market.According to Bhilwara Kotwali SHO Hanuman Singh, the alleged robbery was reported on June 29 near Seth Muralidhar Mansingh Girls School. Narayan Singh, an employee of National Fruit Company, claimed he was carrying around Rs 20 lakh to deposit in a bank when two masked men on a motorcycle rammed his scooter, snatched the cash-filled bag and his mobile phone, and fled.Following a complaint by company operator Chandra Prakash Chandwani, police registered a case and launched an investigation. During investigation, police found inconsistencies in Narayan’s version. He and Vishal were taken into custody, and subsequent interrogation revealed Raghuveer’s involvement.Police said the trio had allegedly planned the fake robbery about 15 days in advance. Investigators believe Narayan exploited the trust placed in him by his employer and conspired with the other two to misappropriate the company’s money while making the crime appear genuine.During questioning, the accused allegedly told police they drew inspiration from social media videos and films depicting robberies, believing they could mislead investigators.
