Narnaul official suspended for arriving late at meet

Narnaul: The Haryana government has suspended Pramod Kumar Deshwal, the Narnaul district development and panchayat officer (DDPO), following a recommendation by health minister Arti Rao, who reportedly expressed dissatisfaction over his late arrival at an official review meeting and his explanation for the delay.Deshwal, also holding the additional charge of district chief executive officer (DCEO), has been attached to the office of the deputy commissioner, Charkhi Dadri, during the suspension period. He will not be permitted to leave the headquarters without prior approval from the deputy commissioner. The controversy stems from a district-level review meeting on June 9, convened at the PWD Rest House to assess the progress of development and panchayat-related projects. According to reports, health minister Arti arrived at the venue at 9 am, and the meeting commenced as scheduled. Officials said Deshwal reached the meeting approximately 15 minutes late. When questioned by the minister about the delay, he allegedly failed to provide a satisfactory explanation. Reports also indicate that concerns were raised regarding his conduct and work management during the meeting. Following the exchange, the minister recommended his suspension to the DC, who subsequently forwarded the recommendation to the state government for further action.Acting on the recommendation, the Haryana government’s development and panchayats department issued orders placing Deshwal under suspension with immediate effect. While the suspension followed the events at the review meeting, the official government order does not explicitly mention the reasons for the disciplinary action. It only outlines the administrative arrangements and conditions applicable during the suspension. When contacted for his response, Deshwal did not answer repeated phone calls.MSID: 132094215 413 |
