Gurgaon: The Haryana education department is set to expand the scope of its Super 100 scheme.In its next phase, the scheme — a flagship initiative that has helped meritorious students from govt schools crack national-level competitive examinations such as JEE and NEET — will no longer remain limited to entrance exam preparation and results but will also include academic support throughout their higher education and also employment.The entire record will also be updated on the education department’s portal to ensure continuous tracking and assessment. District science specialist Surender said the initiative would significantly widen the scope of the Super 100 scheme by focusing not only on examination outcomes but also on the “long-term achievements of students associated with the programme”.The new arrangement is expected to particularly benefit students from Gurgaon govt schools, as the department’s role will now extend beyond examination results to monitoring students’ admissions into higher educational institutions, internships and placement opportunities.District science specialists and concerned schools have been assigned the responsibility of maintaining regular contact with students who qualify through the scheme. Officials will collect details regarding the institutions students join, the courses they pursue and the direction of their career growth.The decision comes after the encouraging performance of the 2024-26 batch of the Super 100 scheme. A total of 226 students from the batch appeared for JEE Advanced 2026, out of which 100 students qualified, resulting in an impressive success rate of nearly 44%.Education officials said the performance once again demonstrates that students from govt schools can achieve national-level success when provided with proper mentorship, structured coaching and adequate resources. Officials said that if students face academic, financial or career-related difficulties during their studies, support and guidance will be provided at the district level through subject experts and departmental coordination.According to Surender, the department will now document which institutions students eventually reach, how their careers progress and the level of recognition they achieve in society. Officials believe this will help evaluate the actual impact of the scheme more effectively and make it increasingly result-oriented and student-centric in the future.The department also believes that continuous mentorship and timely guidance will strengthen students ‘ confidence and help them pursue their academic and professional goals without interruption.
