Hyderabad: After weeks of anticipation over the long-pending recognition union elections, Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has begun groundwork to launch the poll process, with the first notification likely in the next two to three days.The elections will decide the recognised employees’ union, which will represent staff in negotiations with the management on service matters and policy issues.A senior RTC employee told TOI the process gained momentum after a recent meeting between the joint labour commissioner, appointed by the state govt as election officer, and senior TGSRTC officials. The election officer reviewed preparedness and sought details of arrangements.“TGSRTC management has already furnished key election-related information, including the list of polling stations and booth in-charges, to the election officer. These are essential prerequisites for conducting the recognition union verification and polling process across the corporation,” the official said.The first notification is expected to outline the election framework, followed by voter verification, publication of rolls, objections, final voters’ list and polling schedule.Officials said the corporation is coordinating with the election officer to ensure a smooth, transparent election.
