Hyderabad: A 30-year-old woman approached Jubilee Hills police with a complaint against an overseas consultancy, alleging that due to its negligence, she has been banned from visiting the UK for 10 years. The complainant also alleged that she was charged ₹31.2 lakh by the consultancy with an assurance of securing a UK visa under the skilled worker category.The complainant, Deepika, a resident of Film Nagar, alleged that in Oct 2025 she approached Auren Overseas Consultancy representatives, Deepthi and Rufus, at their LB Nagar office. “I explained my situation that I had stayed in the UK for six months beyond my legal visa under further leave to remain (FLR),” Deepika told police.According to the complainant, Rufus and Deepthi claimed that Deepthi’s husband worked in UK immigration and that they would forward all documents to him and a solicitor for the visa process.“Later, Deepthi and Rufus said they could take up my file for a UK skilled worker visa and charged me 20,000 British pounds,” the complainant said, adding that her visa was rejected on March 24, but she was informed about it only on May 14.“While rejecting the skilled worker visa, it was clearly mentioned that six months of FLR was not disclosed in the application. As a result, I have received a 10-year UK visa ban. I paid ₹31.2 lakh to the accused for the visa. Please initiate appropriate legal action against them for negligence, suppression of important information, mishandling of the UK skilled worker visa application and financial exploitation,” the complainant stated.Based on her complaint, Jubilee Hills police registered a case under Sections 316(2) (criminal breach of trust), 318(4) (cheating) read with 3(5) (common intention) of the BNS on June 27. Police said they are collecting evidence from the complainant and that notices will be issued to the accused to record their statements.
