Hyderabad: BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Sunday said sustained efforts by Telangana BJP workers played a key role in weakening the BRS and creating an anti-incumbency wave against the party, but the BJP failed to fully convert that momentum into electoral success, allowing Congress to come to power in Telangana.Addressing BJP booth presidents and karyakartas, Nabin said despite the strong dissatisfaction against the BRS, the political advantage slipped away and Congress capitalised on the situation.Targeting the Congress, Nabin said promises made to people have not been effectively implemented, leading to fresh disappointment among voters. He alleged that the administration lacked direction and consistency.Nabin said people who had experienced the rule of both Congress and BRS are now looking for honest leadership, development and transparent governance, and claimed that only BJP could fulfil the aspirations of Telangana.Attacking the BRS, he said the party had lost public confidence due to allegations of corruption and family-centric politics. He alleged that both Congress and BRS represented politics driven by corruption and family interests, which limited their ability to deliver people-centric governance.Positioning BJP as the alternative, Nabin said the present political situation provided an opportunity for the party but success depended on disciplined grassroots work. He asked booth presidents and party workers to strengthen booth-level structures, increase direct contact with voters, communicate BJP’s development agenda effectively and counter opposition narratives with facts.Criticising AIMIM’s style of politics, Nabin alleged that religion-based politics had not genuinely benefited minorities despite years of representation. He said BJP believed in inclusive development and equal opportunities through governance rather than appeasement or divisive politics. He said BJP had no political compulsion or alignment with the party unlike its rivals. He alleged that other parties had maintained political understandings with AIMIM, which influenced their political approach.He also said that PM Narendra Modi has given utmost priority to Telangana and awarded many projects.Nabin invokes PVBJP president Nitin Nabin also referred to former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao, saying that despite being a proud son of Telangana and making historic contributions to the country, including economic reforms, he was not given due recognition under Congress rule.He alleged that Rao’s legacy was neglected because he did not fit into the internal political structure and priorities of the Congress.Contrasting this with BJP’s approach, Nabin said the party respected national leaders based on their contribution rather than political considerations.
