PUNE: Pune Rural Police have claimed that the prime accused in the Ketan Agarwal murder case, Siya Goyal, had discussed her concerns over the proposed marriage with her brother, Sahil Goyal, before her engagement to Ketan. However, she was unable to find a way out after the engagement was finalised in February.“Despite discussing her concerns with her brother, she was unable to find a way out after the engagement in February,” police said.The development comes after investigators recorded Sahil’s statement.According to police, preliminary findings suggest Sahil was aware of Siya’s relationship with co-accused Chetan Chaudhary. Investigators are verifying whether he shared this information with other members of the family.Police have earlier alleged that Siya was not mentally prepared for the marriage and had sought a year’s postponement. However, the wedding with Ketan Agarwal, who belonged to a wealthy business family, was scheduled for November after the couple got engaged in February.Investigators have also claimed that Siya and Chetan Chaudhary were in a relationship before the engagement and later conspired to kill Agarwal. Police said digital evidence, CCTV footage and call records are being examined as part of the probe.However, Siya’s father, Pravin Goyal, has denied that the family had any knowledge of her alleged relationship with Chaudhary or that she had expressed reluctance to marry Ketan.Both Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary are in police custody till June 29 as Pune Rural Police continue their investigation into the case.
