Jaisalmer: A 25-year-old man, Magaram, was allegedly beaten to death by the family of a 32-year-old married woman in the Barmer Rural police station area early Friday morning, police said.Police said the woman, who has six children, had been in a relationship with Magaram for nearly three years. Their acquaintance reportedly grew over time as Magaram’s sister lived near the woman’s village.According to preliminary investigation, around 5am Friday, Magaram arrived in the woman’s village in a taxi. The woman was at home with her children, while her husband had reportedly gone to Barmer for work. Police suspect Magaram and the woman were attempting to leave the village together.During the inquiry, police learned that the woman’s in-laws noticed them and stopped them. Magaram was allegedly assaulted with sticks and clubs, suffered severe head injuries, and died on the spot. The accused fled, and the woman returned home.Police said the woman’s husband claimed he was not present and had gone to Barmer for work. After returning Friday morning, he found Magaram’s body near the house and informed authorities.Police are searching for the absconding accused. Further legal action will be based on the complaint and statements of Magaram’s family members.
