FIR against Aussie man with satellite device at Mopa airport

Mapusa: Mopa airport police on Friday registered an FIR against an Australian flight crew member after a prohibited satellite tracking device was found in his baggage during security screening.The accused, Brett Gordon Brander, 30, was scheduled to board an IndiGo flight to Chennai when CISF personnel detected a ResQLink 400 personal locator beacon (GPS device) in his handbag at the domestic security of Manohar International Airport.Police said possession of such satellite communication equipment requires prior govt permission, which Brander failed to produce.Police registered a case under the Indian Wireless Telegraphy Act, 1933.
