Rajkot: After a 30-year-old man and his two-and-a-half-year-old daughter were found dead in a water tank in their Jasdan home, a criminal probe has begun with against the dead man’s wife and her alleged lover — for abetment of suicide and intimidation.Faiyaz Pariyani and his daughter Noorfatema were found dead in the water tank on the terrace of their house in Gebansha Society area of Jasdan on Monday.Based on a complaint filed by Faiyaz’s mother, Hasina Pariyani, Jasdan police registered a case against his wife, Firdosh Mundhwa, and her alleged lover, Husain alias Lalo Khimani, under Sections 108, 351(3) and 54 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.The complaint says Faiyaz and Firdosh had been married for seven years and had two children. Two months ago, the family allegedly learned that Firdosh was in a relationship with Husain Khimani, which distressed Faiyaz.The complainant alleged that Firdosh left the matrimonial home a few days before the incident and later informed family members that she intended to live with Husain. The complaint further states that Husain contacted Faiyaz and demanded custody of Noorfatema, saying the child belonged to him and Firdosh, while also issuing threats.Similar threats were made by Firdosh during later phone conversations, the complaint adds. Family members said Faiyaz repeatedly expressed distress at the situation.
