SBI holds talks with Telangana over Raidurg land dispute
The SBI team met chief secretary K Ramakrishna Rao twice in the last three days, after it was learnt that the state govt was mulling withdrawing all its deposits from the bank, and also opt for another financial institution as the lead banker

Hyderabad: A high-level team of the SBI has been holding talks with the state govt over the Raidurg land dispute, with sources not ruling out the possibility of a possible reconciliation.The SBI team met chief secretary K Ramakrishna Rao twice in the last three days, after it was learnt that the state govt was mulling withdrawing all its deposits from the bank, and also opt for another financial institution as the lead banker.Sources said the chief secretary informed the SBI team that the govt at its highest level was annoyed over the bank going to the court against auction of Raidurg land by the govt (TGIIC), and that they would not hesitate to lodge complaints with RBI and the Centre.With the state and central govts jointly taking a decision to appoint SBI CAPS as the consultant for Hyderabad Metro Rail phase-I takeover and phase-II expansion plans, the talk is that the SBI may agree for an alternate land at Khajaguda and withdraw the case.However, the bank officials did not confirm it, and made it clear that the talks were being held in a cordial manner.
