Mumbai: The RTO clerical staff union called off its eight-day strike on Tuesday night after transport minister Pratap Sarnaik intervened and assured to look into the demands. More than 1,400 clerical staff of all RTOs and border check posts across the state were on strike on June 16 for their list of demands, including pending promotions which have been denied to them for the past four years, said union’s general secretary Surendra Sartape. He added that clerical staff will now get their due promotions on time.
