Rajkot: Bodies of a 30-year-old man and his 2-year-old daughter were found dead under mysterious circumstances in the water tank on the terrace of his home in Jasdan town of Rajkot on Tuesday.The deceased were identified as Faiyaz Pariyani and his daughter Fatema. Police said Pariyani was engaged in tyre sales business.Investigating officer Raju Solanki said that Faiyaz married a woman named Farida eight years ago. The couple had two children: a 6-year-old son and a 2-year-old daughter.Preliminary investigation revealed that the couple was facing marital disputes for quite some time, and Farida had reportedly left her husband and children.Police also found that Pariyani came to know about Farida’s relationship with a man, which aggravated their dispute. Some time earlier, Faiyaz even took Farida to her native place in Junagadh, but later brought her back to Jasdan after the two reconciled.Police suspect that Faiyaz may have first thrown his daughter into the water tank, killing her, and then ended his own life.
