Ghaziabad: Amid soaring temperatures, frequent power cuts and tripping were reported across parts of Ghaziabad and Noida on Sunday and Monday. Indirapuram, Vasundhara, Vaishali and Sahibabad in Ghaziabad and sectors 11, 12, 30, 55, 56, 72, and 82 in Noida were among the affected areas.Power department officials said supply was affected due to increase in load, technical glitches and equipment snags.High humidity and prolonged outages disrupted daily routine and water supplies. “Frequent power fluctuations and intermittent outages posed a risk of damage to electronic appliances,” said Prakash Gupta, a resident of Gyan Khand 1, Indirapuram.“Those working from home, students, and shopkeepers faced significant difficulties,” said Sushil Kumar from Vasundhara. In Noida too, power outages kept occurring throughout the day, lasting half an hour to an hour.Residents have demanded an improved supply system, resolution of the tripping issues, and timely notification regarding any power cuts.“Issues of feeder and transformer overload were noted, and these were resolved by the teams deployed on the ground,” said an official from the Ghaziabad power department.
