2 juvenile marsh crocs rescued from Bhandup water plant

Mumbai: Two juvenile Indian Marsh Crocodiles trapped in a tank were rescued from a Bhandup complex, a civic water treatment plant, by the state forest department and RAWW (Resqink Association for Wildlife Welfare).A distress call was reported to the Mumbai forest department about sighting of the trapped reptiles, while responding to which, forest officials, along with rescue experts from RAWW, soon reached the location and safely rescued the crocodiles.The crocodiles were medically examined by a team of associate vets, Dr Priti Sathe and Dr Kirti Sathe from RAWW, and were released back to their natural habitat by the teams.The whole operation was executed under the supervision of DCF Thane Sachin Repal and RFO Mumbai Santosh Dagle in the presence of Round Officer Rama Bhangre and Forest Guard Jalinder Hatwate.The operation was supervised by Chinmay Joshi and executed by Joaquim Naik and Aman Singh.
