Navi Mumbai: In a hit-and-run fatal accident reported at the Rodpali Circle on Friday afternoon, Krishanmohan Jha, 31, lost his life after being crushed by an unknown heavy vehicle on the Panvel-Mumbra stretch of the highway. Seeing him lying on the road, one Raviraj Dahiphale, a driver from Koparkhairane, alerted the Kalamboli police. The police found the victim’s driving licence and identity card in the victim’s pocket. The police rushed Jha to the sub-district hospital, Panvel, through a private ambulance. The doctors at the hospital declared him dead on arrival.The Kalamboli police have booked the unidentified driver of the unknown vehicle for causing death and grievous injuries through rash and negligent driving under the relevant sections of the BNS and Motor Vehicle Act. Further investigation is on to identify the vehicle and the driver through scanning CCTV footage and informants.
