Hyderabad: A 42-year-old nurse was run over allegedly by a minor driving an SUV at Asif Nagar on Sunday. The youth abandoned the SUV and fled, but was caught later in the day.Cops said the 17-year-old at the wheel is doing his Intermediate. The SUV was a hired one, Asif Nagar police said.Around 8.15am, Faheemunnisa, a nurse at Kaba Hospital, was heading to her workplace when the SUV rammed into her from behind. She was rushed to Osmania General Hospital, where she succumbed around noon. Police later informed her family in Hills Colony.“There were three boys in the car at the time of the accident. They were traced from Asif Nagar,” ACP (Asif Nagar) K Srinivasu told TOI.Since the driver is a minor, the person responsible for giving the car to the boy will be booked, police said. Though there were reports that the boy’s father is associated with a political party, local police denied it. The boy was made to undergo a breathalyser test, which showed negative for alcohol.
