Ahmedabad: The city on Sunday experienced partly cloudy weather, while some places in the state received light rain. At 40.7°C degrees, the maximum temperature in the city was 2.8 degrees above normal. At 29°C, the minimum temperature was 1.4 degrees above normal. According to the Met department forecast, the maximum temperature on Monday is likely to be around 41°C.The relative humidity (RH) at 8.30am was 60%, whereas at 5.30 pm, it was 31%. The synoptic conditions indicated a trough extending from north Gujarat to the west-central Arabian Sea, across Saurashtra.Across the state, there will be no major change in maximum temperatures. However several regions, especially South Gujarat, may experience some spells of light to moderate thundershowers, the forecast indicated.Till 6pm, Bardoli received 9mm of rainfall, followed by Chikhli at 5mm, Ambika at 3mm, and Navsari at 1mm. There was no movement in the position of the northern limit of monsoon on Sunday. Ahmedabad was the hottest weather station in the state, followed by Surendranagar and VV Nagar at 40.3°C, and Gandhinagar and Rajkot at 40.2°C.
