JAIPUR: A 36-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing his friend in Rajasthan’s Tonk district.According to police, financial troubles and growing debt were the main reasons behind the crime.The victim, Pawan Kumar Garg, was an electrical goods businessman, the accused, Rakesh Tambi, has been taken into custody.According to Tonk Superintendent of Police Roshan, Tambi had borrowed nearly Rs 56 lakh from around 11 people and was struggling to repay the money. About 15 days before the incident, he had reportedly asked Garg for a loan of Rs 5 lakh, but the request was turned down.Police said the rejection allegedly led Tambi to plot the businessman’s murder.Investigators said Tambi visited Garg’s shop on the night of June 19.The two reportedly drank alcohol together before the accused allegedly attacked Garg with an axe from behind, causing fatal injuries.To ensure the victim did not survive, Tambi allegedly tied a rope around his neck after the attack, police said.After the incident, the accused allegedly fled with a gold chain and a ring belonging to the victim.
