Lucknow: Intense hot and humid conditions continued across the state on Thursday, with Banda emerging as the country’s hottest location at 43.2 degrees Celsius.Odisha’s Boudh recorded 42.8 degrees Celsius, while Brahmapuri in Maharashtra registered 42.3 degrees Celsius. Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh and Bathinda in Punjab shared the fourth spot at 42.2 degrees Celsius.Across Uttar Pradesh, temperatures remained above normal. Prayagraj recorded 41.8 degrees Celsius, followed by Varanasi at 41.7 degrees Celsius. Bahraich and Kanpur recorded 41.4 degrees Celsius each, reflecting the continuing spell of intense heat in the state.Lucknow too remained under the grip of hot and humid weather. The maximum temperature settled at 40.4 degrees Celsius, 2.4 degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 29.6 degrees Celsius, 2.6 degrees above normal.Weather office said Lucknow will witness a mainly clear sky that may turn partly cloudy later on Friday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 41 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius, respectively.
