Shillong: Shillong: Meghalaya ranks among the ‘leading performers’ on project delivery in the northeast, a monitoring report issued by the ministry of development of north eastern region (DoNER) in May has highlighted, reports Manosh Das.“The report records that of 81 monitored projects in Meghalaya, 46 — nearly 57% — are already complete or in their final stage of execution. Fourteen projects worth over Rs 200.92 crore stand at 100% physical completion, and a further 32 are between 75% and 100% complete,” the state planning, investment promotion, sustainable development department said in a statement on Thursday.According to the physical-progress summary from the report, of the 17 centrally funded projects, 11 are being implemented by state departments and are actively in the tendering process, with work orders scheduled through June and July 2026, the statement stated.“The remaining six were sanctioned directly by the Ministry of DoNER to central agencies — NESAC, NECTAR, IICA, NPCCL and others — and their execution falls within the mandate of those agencies rather than the state government,” the statement pointed out.“The state govt remains fully committed to the timely delivery of all sanctioned projects and continues close monitoring to resolve bottlenecks,” the official statement said.
