Gandhinagar: Chief minister Bhupendra Patel on Wednesday presided over an orientation session of govt officials ahead of Praveshotsav, the annual school enrolment drive of the state govt which will be held across the state later this month.The CM also launched State Curriculum Framework and School Quality Assessment and Assurance Framework booklets based on the National Education Policy (NEP) at the event. He also floated the Nipun Gujarat campaign.Speaking at the event, the CM called for this year’s school enrolment drive to be transformed into a celebration of progress and urged everyone to ensure that all eligible children are enrolled in school. Patel said that during the Praveshotsav and Kanya Kelavani Mahotsav, every official visiting schools must hold discussions with parents and explain to them the necessity of the holistic development of children.Quoting the CM, an official statement said that like Gujarat is a leader in other areas of development, it should also become a leader in education, and that collective efforts are vital in this endeavour.DyCM Harsh Sanghavi asked officials not to consider the drive as merely an administrative duty, but to engage in it wholeheartedly for shaping children’s futures. He said teachers, along with parents, must adopt a social approach to ensure children maintain hygiene in school, wash their hands before meals, and improve their morning routines.
