Mumbai: The BEST on Tuesday set up a new fault control office in D ward in the Mumbai Central area, which also caters to parts of E ward. It will cater to several consumers in Tardeo, Mumbai Central, and parts of Grant Road. The fault control office, with 84 staffers, was a pending demand from locals who were unable to get through to the BEST customer support during times of power outages.As many as 7,500 complaints were registered in the past year, and the BEST customer care centres in central Mumbai were flooded with calls, most of which took time to redress. The BEST, in a recent meeting, approved setting up a new fault control centre, with a control room and an emergency team on standby to be sent to the site in times of power outages.
