Mumbai : City MLA Sanjay Upadhyay has written to railway minister Ashwini Vaishnav, demanding that the process of reconstruction of Borivli railway station be started soon. He also demanded an increase in the number of AC local trains between Borivli and Churchgate, and demanded that new local trains be introduced in place of the MEMU services running between Dahanu Road, Virar and Borivli.“There is a great deal of uncleanliness in the MEMU trains, and as they have old rakes, the lighting is poor and there is insufficient ventilation. If trains are introduced on the lines of new locals, suburban passengers will get more facilities,” Upadhyay said. For this, he has demanded that local trains comprising AC and non-AC coaches be introduced.
