Shillong: IIM Shillong and the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal, Telangana, jointly hosted the sixth phase of the ‘Yuva Sangam’ under the Centre’s ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ (EBSB) initiative in Shillong.Held between June 8 to 12, the five-day event brought together 46 students and five faculty coordinators from Telangana, providing them with an experience of Meghalaya’s rich cultural heritage, institutions, developmental initiatives and natural beauty.“As part of the ‘Prodyogiki’ (Technology) and ‘Pragati’ (Development), the youths from Telengana visited institutions of national importance, including the North Eastern Space Applications Centre, Eastern Air Command, North Eastern Police Academy, Headquarters Directorate General Assam Rifles, NIT Meghalaya, North-Eastern Hill University, Sports Authority of India, and Lok Bhavan Meghalaya.“The programme also emphasized ‘Paraspar Sampark’ (People-to-People Connect) through interactions with community leaders, including the Dorbar Shnong Mawpat, engagement with students and faculty from various institutions, and cultural exchange programmes involving participants from Meghalaya and Telangana. These interactions fostered mutual understanding, respect, and lasting friendships among the youth,” an IIM statement elaborated.
