Teenager’s quick thinking foxes carjackers in Ludhiana.

Ludhiana: An 18-year-old youngster foiled a carjacking attempt near the Jalandhar Bypass on Saturday evening. Two bike-borne men intercepted his path near the bypass, where one of the accused tried to forcefully open the car door but failed. Two more accomplices joined the miscreants during the snatching attempt, but the car occupant managed to drive away safely. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed near the spot. Upon receiving a complaint, the Salem Tabri police lodged an FIR against unidentified accused.The FIR was registered following the statement of Avinash Kumar Chhabra, a scribe from Laxmi Puri, Salem Tabri. Chhabra stated that his nephew, Dhruv Chhabra, was heading to Aman Nagar near the Jalandhar Bypass in his Kia Sonet to collect a jacket from a friend for an upcoming trip to Manali. Chhabra explained that when his nephew reached the Jalandhar Bypass Chowk, two men on a motorcycle blocked his way by dropping their bike directly in front of the car. The accused then attempted to force entry into the vehicle, and two additional accomplices soon joined them to execute the crime.Conspiracy AllegedChhabra added that his nephew maintained his composure, drove the car away, and successfully foiled the bid. He also mentioned that his family has been receiving threats from various individuals over the past few months. Consequently, he suspects a conspiracy behind the attempted carjacking. ASI Prem Chand, who is investigating the case, stated that an FIR under sections 304(2) and 3(5) of the BNS has been lodged against the unidentified suspects. The police are currently scanning CCTV footage to identify the men involved in the incident and are investigating the conspiracy angle.
