Money dispute turns violent in Gurgaon, one shot in leg
During the clash, members of both groups allegedly damaged each other’s vehicles

GURGAON: A dispute over money escalated into a violent clash between two groups in Sector 10 late on Wednesday night, leaving one man with a bullet injury in his leg and two vehicles damaged.The victim was identified as Sikandar.Police said the incident took place near Alpine School outside the office of victim’s friend Ashish where two parties gathered to settle a financial dispute. During the confrontation, sticks and clubs were used and a bullet was fired, hitting Sikandar in the leg.Sikandar, a resident of Gadauli village, was admitted to a hospital for treatment. After the incident, members of both groups fled the spot, leaving behind the damaged vehicles.According to cops, Arjun Sahu, a resident of Kheri Padampur village, and one Akshay had been involved in a dispute over Rs 1.5 lakh.To resolve the matter, Arjun along with his around 10 associates visited Ashish’s office at in Sector 10. Police said around a dozen people from each side were present when an argument over the money broke out and soon turned into a brawl.During the clash, members of both groups allegedly damaged each other’s vehicles. Police said a young man accompanying Arjun fired a shot from his licensed revolver during the altercation. The bullet struck Sikandar in the leg.Following information about the incident, a team from Sector 10 police station reached the spot and took the two damaged vehicles into custody.The incident happened near sector 10 crime branch office. Crime Branch and forensic teams were also called to examine the scene and collect evidence.Police have seized CCTV footage from a nearby house that captured the entire sequence of events and are analysing it as part of the investigation.Preliminary investigation has revealed that the dispute stemmed from betting money. Police said Arjun was allegedly involved in facilitating betting activities, while Akshay had placed a bet through him. After losing the bet, a financial liability arose, leading to the dispute that culminated in the violent confrontation.No arrest has been made so far. Police said the matter is under investigation and further action will be taken based on the findings of the probe. An attempt to murder case has been registered at sector 10 police station.
