TNNVaranasi: Highlighting the importance of regional political parties, the RJD Rajya Sabha member Manoj K Jha said that regional parties are vital to India’s diversity. Whoever makes out that regional parties in India will vanish one day, prays for the ruin of India. The idea of India is the idea of diversity, the idea of plurality, he added.Jha was addressing a discussion on the ‘Future of regional parties’ in Varanasi on Saturday. The event was organised by the Banaras Utsav. A book authored by the senior journalist Sunita Aron was also released on the occasion.“I am a strong supporter of coalition because I see the identity of India as a coalition in itself,” Jha said, adding that India is a coalition in itself – a coalition of cuisine, a coalition of ideas, a coalition of fundamentals, a coalition of regions, a coalition of attitude on multiple levels. There is a regional party in every district of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Every district has its own party. In terms of its diversity and progress, Kerala has left no shortage. So those people, who also say that there will be a strong government and can do whatever they want, he added.
