Priest killed, pillon rider woman hurt in Ludhiana collision.

Ludhiana: A local priest was killed and a female passenger injured critically on Friday after a speeding car slammed into their electric scooter on the Ferozepur highway here.The victim, Ram Singh of Malak village, was reportedly heading towards the Kothe Baggu area near Jagraon when the accident occurred. Ram Singh, who served as a priest at a nearby religious site, died on the scene. The investigating officer, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Atma Singh, has said the collision took place on the GT Road as a car zipping in from Ludhiana towards Moga-Ferozepur struck the e-scooter from behind. The impact threw both riders onto the pavement, causing instantaneous fatal injuries to Ram Singh and leaving his pillion passenger with grievous wounds.Local witnesses assisted emergency services in transporting the unidentified woman to the government hospital in Jagraon. Due to the severity of her condition, she was later transferred to a specialist facility in Ludhiana for advanced treatment. Police arrived on the scene shortly after the accident to secure the area and recover the body of the deceased. Following a post-mortem examination, Ram Singh’s body was released to his family for funeral.Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident and are working to identify the driver of the car involved. No arrests have been made at this stage as police continue to record statements from eyewitnesses.
