Guwahati: BJP on Thursday announced president of its Manipur unit, Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi, as the party’s candidate for the upcoming Rajya Sabha election.Devi, the first woman president of BJP Manipur, has long been associated with the organisation and has previously served as the party’s national vice-president from 2014 to 2016.Nominations can be filed until June 8, with the last date for withdrawal on June 11. Polling is scheduled on June 18.
