Four men try to abduct land broker in Vastrapur

Ahmedabad: A real estate broker in the city on Wednesday lodged a complaint with Vastrapur police alleging that four unidentified men tried to abduct him from outside a temple in Vastrapur after threatening him in the name of two men with whom he had no direct dispute.According to the FIR, complainant Pruthvish Prajapati, 35, a land broker from Maninagar, alleged that he had been receiving threats for the past three years from Sanjay Rabari and Mahesh Rabari over their financial dispute with his friend, Mihir Desai. Prajapati claimed that although he was not directly involved in the dispute, the duo allegedly threatened him repeatedly, warning that he would be kidnapped and killed.The complainant told police that on May 23, he, along with friends Parag Tatariya and Rushin Bhatt, visited the Shani Dev temple near SAL Hospital in Vastrapur. After offering prayers, the trio stepped out of the temple around 7pm when an unidentified man allegedly grabbed Prajapati from behind and forced him to the ground.The attacker allegedly told him that he was acting on behalf of Sanjay and Mahesh, and demanded money. Prajapati stated that when he tried to escape, three more unidentified men joined the first assailant and allegedly threatened to abduct him and take him to Sanjay and Mahesh.Fearing for his safety, Prajapati ran back into the temple premises raising an alarm, prompting the four men to flee.Police said the complainant later approached Vastrapur police station and lodged an FIR. Based on his statement, police registered a case against Sanjay, Mahesh and four unidentified accomplices for criminal conspiracy, intimidation and attempted abduction.Police are examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the suspects.
