Varanasi: Police arrested a man for allegedly misbehaving with a woman near Hyderabad Gate of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) on April 9.Police have launched a manhunt for the second accused, who is currently absconding.Police said on the night of April 9, when the woman was passing through the Hyderabad Gate area alone. two persons in an SUV allegedly passed obscene remarks and misbehaved with her. The woman confronted the accused, recorded a video of the incident on her mobile phone, and raised an alarm. As locals gathered at the spot, the accused fled in their vehicle.ACP Bhelupur Gaurav Kumar said that police took cognisance of the incident after the video went viral on Wednesday evening. Teams from Chitaipur police station were deployed to identify the accused.“One of the miscreants has been identified as Deep Narayan Singh (29), a resident of Robertsganj in Sonbhadra district, with the help of the SUV number. He has been arrested and the vehicle seized,” the ACP said.
