Hyderabad: A seven-year-old boy who suffered critical head injuries while trying to escape a pack of stray dogs in the Rajanna Sircilla district around two weeks ago died on Wednesday night.According to the police, Etikala Aditya was playing near his home at Thangallapally mandal on April 1 when a pack of stray dogs suddenly chased him. Panicking, he tried to run to safety but tripped and fell, sustaining severe head injuries. The dogs also reportedly bit his legs during the attack.Family members first took him to a local hospital before shifting him to a private hospital in Hyderabad as his condition worsened. Doctors informed the family that blood had clotted in his head and that the child had slipped into a coma. Aditya’s health continued to deteriorate. He died in hospital on Wednesday night, said police.Aditya was the only son of Mahesh and Sangeetha.According to Tangallapally sub-inspector Upendra Chary, the parents declined to lodge a formal complaint and did not consent to a post-mortem examination. As a result, no case has been registered.
