Chandigarh: Opposition Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Sunday attacked the AAP-led Punjab govt over the state’s law and order situation following the murder of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Joga Singh in Amritsar district.Leader of opposition and Congress MLA Partap Singh Bajwa said the killing of the policeman while he was on his way to duty near Majitha reflected the growing “fearlessness among criminals” in Punjab under the Bhagwant Mann govt.Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring alleged that “complete lawlessness and anarchy” prevailed across the state. “When policemen themselves are not safe, one can imagine the condition of common citizens,” he said.Referring to the violence and arson inside Kapurthala Central Jail on Saturday night, Warring said the incident showed that the govt’s “writ does not run even inside jail premises”.SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal also condemned the killing and alleged that law and order had “completely collapsed” in Punjab.
