Lucknow: Lucknow University’s Department of Ancient Indian History and Archaeology (AIHA) will introduce a one-year diploma course in tourism from the 2026–27 academic session. The department will offer the course for postgraduates in history or other subjects.“A diploma in tourism from an AIHA department combines travel skills with historical knowledge. It will prepare students for roles such as heritage site managers, cultural tour operators and certified guides,” said Prof Durgesh Srivastava.Department teachers said the course has been designed to meet industry requirements. It will offer opportunities such as working as a heritage tour guide and designing tour itineraries for agencies.
