3 family members shot dead over property and money dispute in Haryana village; woman critical, 3 booked
Property and money dispute tragically escalated into a triple murder in Ambala’s Bichpari village.

AMBALA: A family dispute over property and money turned into a gruesome triple murder in Bichpari village of Haryana’s Shahzadpur area in Ambala district on Saturday evening, leaving three members of a family dead and one woman critically injured.The incident took place around 5:30 pm when 22-year-old Abhishek of Bichpari village opened fire on his elder brother Sandeep Kumar (40), grandmother Isro Devi (in 90s), and uncle (chacha) Mahinder Singh (50). Mahinder’s wife Sunita (45) sustained serious injuries and is battling for life in hospital. Isro died on the spot while Mahinder and Sandeep died later.On the complaint of Sandeep’s wife Neha the Ambala police have registered a case against Abhishek, his father Satbir Singh and mother Usha under Section 61 (criminal conspiracy), 103 (1) (punishment for murder) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita and 25 of the Arms Act at Shahzadpur police station on Sunday.Neha stated in his complaint that her father-in-law Satbir and brother-in-law Abhishek in connivance sold sand from their part of land and from the land of Mahinder Singh (Satbir’s brother). “The money received from selling sand was divided by Satbir and Abhishek. No share was given to uncle Mahinder Singh. Due to this, my husband Sandeep and uncle Mahinder had demanded their part of money from Satbir and Abhishek. They had heated arguments due to this issue. A scuffle took place on Saturday evening also, when Abhishek suddenly started shooting with a pistol. My grandmother Isro Devi died on the spot. Sandeep, Mahinder uncle and Sunita aunt were rushed to hospital”, said Neha.The shocking incident has plunged the entire village into mourning. Residents said the family had been embroiled in disputes over ancestral property and money for some time. The elderly grandmother, who had witnessed three generations of the family living together under one roof, also fell victim to the violence.Police investigations revealed that the accused had allegedly planned the attack in advance. Officials are probing how Abhishek obtained the pistol used in the crime and whether it was a licensed weapon. Raids are being conducted to trace the source of the firearm.Abhishek was reportedly pursuing a second-year pharmacy course in Bagwali, Panchkula. His family members said they were unaware that he possessed a weapon.Retired health department employee Satbir Singh, father of Abhishek, stated that tensions had existed between Abhishek and his elder brother Sandeep as well as uncle Mahinder for some time over money and property. The father alleged that Mahinder often sided with Sandeep, further deepening the rift between the brothers.Villagers said the family had been under stress for several months, though nobody imagined the dispute would end in such bloodshed. Police teams are continuing raids to arrest Abhishek, who fled the scene after the firing. Forensic experts have collected evidence from the spot, and further investigation is underway.Shahzadpur SHO sub-inspector Om Chand said that efforts are being made to trace the accused and the post-mortem of the deceased persons is being conducted on Sunday.
