Chandigarh: Congress MP from Gurdaspur, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, on Friday slammed the Aam Aadmi Party govt in Punjab over misuse of “drug census”. He alleged that crores of rupees were being wasted on the exercise, which had nothing to do with any genuine anti-drug campaign.“The entire exercise is nothing more than a political survey aimed at assessing the declining public support of the AAP and preparing strategies to retain power,” said Randhawa.Punjab’s teachers are being turned into a part of a political survey. By removing teachers from schools and classrooms and deploying them in this administrative exercise, the education system is being adversely affected, he added. The senior parliamentarian accused the govt of misusing administrative resources and spending taxpayers’ money for political interests. Teachers are meant to shape the future of Punjab’s children, but instead they are being forced onto the streets to collect data for a govt that has completely lost the trust of the people, he said. This is an insult to both the education system and the teaching community, said Randhawa.MSID:: 131263796 413 |
