32-year-old man on bike killed after auto-rickshaw driver strikes his two-wheeler in Mumbai

Mumbai: A 32-year-old man lost his life on Sunday afternoon after an auto-rickshaw driver allegedly struck his motorcycle near Airoli Bridge in Mulund East and fled the scene, police said.The deceased, identified as Mittal Patil, a restaurant manager, resident of Chembur West, was riding his motorcycle along Navghar Road when the incident occurred at approximately 1:30 pm. According to eyewitnesses, the auto-rickshaw driver made an illegal U-turn, colliding with Patil’s vehicle. The impact threw Patil off his motorcycle, leaving him with severe head injuries.Bystanders at the scene rushed to assist the victim and transported him to Veer Savarkar Hospital in Mulund East. Doctors declared Patil dead at 1:55 pm, before he could be admitted.Sub-Inspector Pralhad Pawar has been assigned to lead the investigation. The auto driver has not been arrested yet.
