Pune: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis will inaugurate two civic projects, including the overhead water storage tanks constructed by PMC in Mohammadwadi-NIBM Road-Undri area and a PMC-run cancer hospital in Baner, on Sunday.The overhead tanks have been constructed by the civic administration under the equitable water supply project. The work of laying a 23-km-long transmission line and the water distribution network in Mohammadwadi area was completed recently. Local citizens from the Mohammadwadi-NIBM Road area have been waiting for the assured water supply for the last many years. city mayor Manjusha Nagpure along with MLC Yogesh Tilekar and leaders from civic body on Friday inspected the overhead tanks. The administration has started the trials for supply of water to the distribution network.Standing committee chairman Shrinath Bhimale said that the PMC-run cancer hospital in Baner area that Fadnavis will inaugurate on Sunday, is the first hospital in the country that has been developed on PPP basis to provide cancer treatment. The patients under the Central Govt Health Scheme (CGHS) will be able to avail the treatment. PMC has joined hands with a private agency to run the facility. PMC has provided Rs14.85 crore as viability gap funding for the project, while the agency is providing all the infrastructure and medical facilities. The hospital has a capacity of 150 beds, and all advanced treatment facilities.PMC begins land acquisition for Katraj-Kondhwa roadMayor Manjusha Nagpure on Friday visited the Katraj-Kondhwa road project where the administration has started the acquisition of plots required for the widening of the road. The PMC is handing over some land to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) required for the Katraj chowk flyover project.
