Pune: A 63-year-old woman died after she was ran over by a water tanker at Alandi on Thursday evening.The Alandi police have identified the deceased woman as Annapurna Rokade of Vikaswadi in Khed taluka.An officer from the Alandi police said that the accident happened around 6pm, when Rokade was riding pillion with her son on his motorcycle. They were heading towards the vegetable market. When they reached Ganapati temple chowk near Haripath Garden, Rokade’s son lost his balance. “Rokade, who was off guard, fell- off the motorcycle. Around the time, a water tanker was coming from the opposite direction. She came under the wheels of the tanker and died on the spot,” the officer said.He said that the police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. “We have registered a case of accidental death. Our investigations are on,” he said.
