Hyderabad: Rajiv Gandhi International (RGI) Airport received a bomb threat email stating that explosive substances were in a Lufthansa flight arriving at RGIA from Frankfurt on Friday. The flight landed safely and, after checking the aircraft, security personnel declared the threat a hoax. A case was registered against the unknown offender in the afternoon at RGI Airport PS.According to RGI Airport Out Post police, on Thursday night, RGI Airport customer care received a mail stating that explosive materials were onboard a Lufthansa flight and an explosion might occur when the flight reaches Hyderabad.The flight was already en route to Hyderabad when the mail was received, and it landed safely at around 1.30 am on Friday. “After the passengers disembarked, bomb disposal squad at the airport thoroughly checked the aircraft and no explosive substances were found. It was a hoax threat email,” RGI Out Post SI K Rohit said.On the complaint of GMR Airport authorities, RGI Airport police registered a case on Friday afternoon under relevant sections of the BNS and the IT Act against the unknown offender.
