Hyderabad: Hayathnagar police registered an abetment to suicide case against a woman after a 28-year-old cab driver died by suicide at their home on May 12.The deceased was P Govardhan from Koheda. In her complaint to the police, Govardhan’s mother, P Maheshwari, stated that her elder son, Govardhan, came home at 10.30 am on May 12 after completing his night duty and went to bed in his room.During that time, the complainant said she and her husband went to work and that their daughter, Devi, was present at home. As Govardhan did not come out of the room till evening and also his mobile phone was switched off, Devi knocked on the door several times. As there was no response, she forcibly pushed the door a few times and managed to open it at 6 pm, and found him hanging.In a suicide note, Govardhan alleged that he was cheated by a woman, Saritha, who had promised to marry him. Separately, Govardhan also recorded selfie videos saying that he married Saritha secretly a few years ago and even had a son. “But she gave away our son to someone else and married another man,” Govardhan alleged in the video.Police registered an abetment to suicide case against Saritha under Section 108 of BNS on May 13. “We have handed over the body to the victim’s family after the postmortem. The cell phone of the victim was seized and it will be sent to FSL. We are collecting more details about the case and appropriate legal action will be initiated based on the evidence,” Hayathnagar inspector P Nagaraj Goud said.
