One-time pay of Rs15k for those in pvt sector with 20 yrs service

Panaji: Chief minister Pramod Sawant said that, through the state labour department, Goa govt would soon give one-time payment of Rs 15,000 to every private sector employee in the state who has completed 20 years of service and is registered with the department.“Those working for more than 20 years in private sector will be paid a one-time amount of Rs 15,000, we will hold an event to hand it over soon. Those working for 20 years and who are registered with the labour department, we will give it from govt’s end as their contribution to the state is also important,” the chief minister said.He said that a small contribution is made by private sector employees to the labour department, from which the payout will be made.Sawant said that there are over two lakh private sector employees in the state.He said that 100% coverage of all private sector employees will also be ensured under Prime Minister’s insurance scheme.“I have already declared on May 1 at the labour department’s programme that those working in private sector will be covered under the Pradhan Mantri insurance scheme. We will make the payment on their behalf through labour department. It will become easy if we do it through banks,” he said.Sawant added that usually those working in the govt sector get benefits of different schemes, but private sector employees are denied it. He said distribution of the benefits should be pursued by banks and industries in an organised manner by taking suitable initiatives.“It can be done in organised manner. I have already given instructions to my labour department. Often the govt sector employees get benefit as it is organised but these employees do not,” he reiterated.
