Pune: The Yavat police on Tuesday arrested three people for bludgeoning a man (39) to death inside a restobar at Sahajpur village in Daund taluka the previous day.A Pimple Gurav resident Dayanand Bhurke (48), uncle of the deceased, has lodged a complaint with the Yavat police.The Yavat police have identified the deceased as Dhanraj Bhurke of Latur. The suspects have been identified as Mauli Jadhav, Vishal Dhende, both of Urali Kanchan, and Navaz Tamboli of Yavat.An officer from the Yavat police said the complainant is a labour contractor. On Monday morning, the complainant, his friend and Dhanraj Bhurke came to Sahajpur from Pune to visit a site, where the complainant had put workers on contract. “After the visit, they went to the restaurant and bar to eat. The suspects were sitting next to their table,” the officer said.He said after having food, when the victim was walking towards the washbasin, he lost balance and fell on one of the suspects. “The three suspects slapped him. The complainant and his friend intervened and left the bar,” he said.The officer said after some time the complainant returned to the bar to pay the bill. The victim also followed him, as he had forgotten his cellphone after the commotion. “Seeing him again, the trio attacked him. They beat him up and thrashed him with chairs. The complainant and staff in the bar rescued Bhurke and took him to their van,” the officer said.He said that according to the complainant, the victim had sustained severe injuries. He was speaking in a weak voice. The victim became unconscious by the time they reached Hadapsar. The complainant then alerted the police control room, and a team of Hadapsar police intercepted them and took the victim to the Sassoon General Hospital. He was, however, pronounced dead by the doctors. “We have registered the complaint on Tuesday and arrested the three suspects. Our investigations are on,” the officer said.
