Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Wednesday directed officials to ensure uninterrupted water and electricity supply across the state during the peak summer season, warning that district collectors and departmental officers would be held accountable if people face inconvenience.Chairing a review meeting at the CMO, Sharma said complaints related to water or power supply would invite responsibility fixation on the district collector concerned and department officials. He stressed that drinking water and electricity arrangements must be treated as the highest priority during the summer months.The CM instructed all district collectors to hold weekly review meetings on water and electricity supply and ensure continuous monitoring of the situation. He directed departmental officers to resolve complaints on a priority basis.“Providing relief to common people during summer is the state govt’s priority, and negligence of any kind in this regard will not be acceptable,” Sharma said during the meeting.He further ordered regular monitoring of cleanliness, drinking water availability, and other essential facilities in hospitals.Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for fuel conservation, the CM asked officers to minimise the use of official vehicles and promote carpooling wherever possible. He said district-level meetings should preferably be conducted through video conferencing to reduce fuel consumption.The CM also reviewed progress under the Jal Jeevan Mission and instructed officials to complete ongoing works within fixed timelines through proper target-setting. He asked departments to prepare a detailed report on the status of the projects.
