Guwahati: A seven-day exhibition titled ‘Bharat-Contour of Continuity’ was inaugurated at Assam Royal Global University in collaboration with the Indian Museum under the ministry of culture, Government of India, to mark International Museum Day.The initiative also commemorates 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’ and will pay tribute to India’s heritage through a portrait of Rishi Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay by eminent artist Atul Bose.Running until May 21, the exhibition marks the first time the Indian Museum has organised such a showcase in the northeast. “Museums are not merely buildings with objects. These are living bridges between the past, present and the future,” said Sanjay Kumar Krishna, retired Assam chief secretary.The exhibition features replicas of rare antiquities and artworks from the museum’s collections. Workshops on preventive conservation, numismatics and epigraphy are also being conducted to promote heritage awareness and academic engagement among youths in the region.
