Shriram General reports 24% rise in GDP in FY26

Chennai: Shriram General Insurance Company (SGI) posted a 24% growth in Gross Direct Premium (GDP) at Rs 4,635 crore in 2025-26 against Rs 3,753 crore during the previous year (2024-25).For FY26, the net profit rose to Rs 601 crore from Rs 515 crore in FY25, a 17% YoY increase. In Q4 of FY26, its net profit increased by 28% and stood at Rs 167 crore when compared with Rs 130 crore in the same period last year, the company said in a statement.Active policies grew to 69 lakh as of March 2026, compared to 65 lakh in the previous year, it added. “Our motor portfolio remained the key growth driver for the last quarter, supported by disciplined underwriting, deeper distribution reach, and stronger claims servicing capabilities,” said Anil Aggarwal, MD & CEO of the company.
