Chennai: Two men were attacked and robbed of their mobile phones, cash and motorcycle by a four-member gang near Tiruttani on Monday night. The gang has been arrested. At 9pm, Chiranjeevi, 24, a welder from R V N Kandigai village, and Indu, 25, a driver from the same village, were returning home on a two-wheeler from K G Kandigai. When the duo was nearing a lake bund, the gang of four arrived on an autorickshaw and a motorbike and intercepted them. They threatened them at knifepoint and went on to attack them with it when the duo resisted. The gang fled the scene with their phones, cash and vehicle. Residents rushed the duo to the Tiruttani govt hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. Based on a complaint, Tiruttani police registered a case and arrested the four suspects — Pushparaj, 25, Yuvaraj, 20, Vimalraj, 26, and Siva, 22, all from Cherukkanur.
